Instrumentation

All instrument installations are performed by either EPC Contractors or E&I packaged engineers/technicians. All of our technicians strive to have a complete understanding of our customer’s processes. Start-up & Commissioning Services

Start-up & commissioning crews are qualified technicians with a maintenance background. Our goal in in commissioning is to try and find any omissions or errors that may have been overlooked during the he construction phase. This is accomplished via P&ID walk downs. The P&ID review will address fundamental engineering and operations validation as well as maintenance issues. Instrument location and serviceability will be reviewed and any potential reliability improvements will be highlighted to our Clients.

 We provide solutions and alternatives to the engineers. This cuts down on total commissioning timeframe and project lifecycle.

E&I Engineering Documentation

Our Technical Authority and CMS can provide a full documentation package of FPSO, FSO, FPU, Rigs  for startup and commissioning. When doing retrofits without existing documentation we can reverse engineer. Our documentation is driven by tag number rather than print number. P&ID's, loop diagrams, data sheets, installation details, conduit schedule, instrument location drawings, cable schedule and any other drawing can be linked from the Excel version of the Instrument Index. Tag numbers are the significant identifier of all systems and have become the industry standard for instrumentation & control systems. Our E&I services provides documentation in a simple excel and PDF format which is easy to navigate and saves time during construction, startup and maintenance activities.

Shut Downs & Turnarounds

Our E&I Contractor/Yard supervised sub-contractors strives to minimize downtime for the customer. We have conducted turnarounds as short or as long as your process requires. We will do as much pre-work as possible to limit actual downtime from an electrical, communications, instrumentation, and controls standpoint. We work closely with the mechanical contractor to plan and coordinate the turnaround activities so that we are complimenting, rather than stumbling over or waiting for each other. It is not uncommon to have conduit systems, cable tray systems, communication networks and instrumentation backbones completely pre-built and ready for final placement prior to the turnaround.

Our E&I Contractor/Sub-Contractors excels at retrofitting new equipment into existing applications. We are experienced at working within the confines of existing facilities and the space constraints that may be imposed. Our technicians are trained and qualified for working in confined spaces. We can do custom builds and have fast track capability for MCC’s and distribution panel boards.
